On my long bike ride this weekend (41 miles in 2 hours 18 minutes), I hooked up with another guy and we rode together for several miles. He used to race, so he was giving me tips along the way. On one flat, straight stretch, he said, “Use this spot to get down on your aero bars. This road was built for them.”
He was right; it’s tough to find a better place to practice in the aero position than an open road like that. Since it was a great idea, I gave it a shot. Rather than tell you how it went in words, I’ll relate the story in photos.
